Specifying a new cupboard is not simply a matter of picking a size. The extract route, the chemistry, the room’s ventilation and the standards your estate is audited against all bear on the decision, and getting it wrong is expensive to undo.
HFH specifies against all of that, supplies the unit, and installs it. Because the same group then services it, whoever specifies the cupboard knows they will be the ones maintaining it — which tends to concentrate the mind.
Equipment supplied includes ducted and ductless recirculating fume cupboards, laminar flow cabinets, microbiological safety cabinets, extraction units and bespoke containment enclosures.

Refurbished
Refurbished units, where the budget will not stretch to new
A capital bid for a new cupboard can take a year to clear. A refurbished unit is often the difference between a laboratory getting a working cupboard this term and waiting for the next budget round.
HFH holds refurbished stock and puts every unit through a full refurbishment process before it is sold, so the cupboard arriving on site performs to standard rather than merely looking presentable. Installed units carry a 12-month guarantee.

Education
Equipping school and university laboratories
Education is where both companies do most of their work. A school replacing a failed cupboard is usually working to a fixed budget, a fixed holiday window and a CLEAPSS-informed specification, and needs all three to line up.
Equipment is specified against BS EN 14175 and BS 7989, with BB88 taken into account for school building ventilation. Where the budget does not reach new, a refurbished unit is put forward honestly rather than as a second-best.
All engineers are DBS checked, because most of this work happens in occupied schools.
